What Thursday AI holds about you, for how long, and how to delete it. Written to be read.
The messages you send to Thursday AI: text, voice notes, photos, documents and links. On WhatsApp, a hashed form of your number; on the web, nothing that identifies you unless you sign in, in which case your account email. The language you choose, and the city you tell us, if you tell us.
We do not collect your contacts, your other chats, your location from your phone, or anything you do not send to us. The web pages record the usual server logs, which are kept for 90 days.
We use what you send to answer you, to remind you when you asked to be reminded, and to improve how Thursday AI answers. Questions are grouped by city and topic, counted, and shown anonymously in Pakistan Now.
We do not sell it. We do not show you advertising based on it. We do not give it to any news outlet, political party or government department, except where the law of Pakistan requires us to and a court has asked.
Your messages are processed by a language model licensed from Thursday Media International, under a contract that does not permit the provider to train on them or keep them beyond the request. The record Thursday AI answers from, The Thursday Times and official documents, is ours; the provider does not decide what is true.
Where no model provider is configured, Thursday AI answers by quoting the sources directly, and nothing leaves our server.
Questions and answers: 90 days, then the question is deleted; the answer, which contains nothing about you, stays public with its sources. Documents and photos you send: 90 days. Reminders: until they fire or you cancel them. Your account: until you delete it.
The corrections log is public and permanent, and never contains your name, number or message.
Pakistan Now shows what people are asking, by city and topic. It is built from counts, not from messages. A topic appears only once 3 different people have asked about it, so no single question can be seen. The city comes from what you tell Thursday AI, never from your number or your phone.
Send “delete” on WhatsApp, or use the privacy tools on your account: everything held against your number or account is deleted at once, and you get a confirmation. Send “stop” to receive no messages. Send “export” to receive a copy of what we hold.
If something here is not working as described, write to backend@thursdaytimes.com and a person will answer within five working days.
Thursday AI is for people aged 13 and over. Exam Desk is for candidates aged 18 and over. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes, and Thursday AI tells you on WhatsApp before the change takes effect. The Thursday Times. Data protection contact: backend@thursdaytimes.com.
Questions about this page: write to the desk. The English text governs; an Urdu translation is published when the desk has checked it.
