واشنگٹن میں خطاب کرتے ہوئے نائب وزیراعظم و وزیر خارجہ اسحاق ڈار نے انکشاف کیا کہ پاکستان اور امریکہ ایک اہم تجارتی معاہدے کے آخری مراحل میں داخل ہو چکے ہیں، جو متوقع طور پر "دنوں میں" طے پا سکتا ہے۔ معاہدے میں ٹیکسٹائل، ڈیجیٹل تجارت، زراعت اور معدنیات جیسے شعبے شامل ہیں۔ پاکستان برآمدات پر محصولات میں کمی اور امریکی سرمایہ کاری کے فروغ کا خواہاں ہے، جبکہ امریکی حکام نے مذاکرات کو مثبت قرار دیا ہے۔
