DUBAI (The Thursday Times) — Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has once again demonstrated its prowess in hosting successful auctions with the latest edition attracting substantial attention. This open auction, which marked the 116th edition, managed to generate an impressive AED69.137 million through the sale of exclusive vehicle licence plates. The event featured a selection of ninety premium plates, each uniquely designed with two to five digits and a range of letters including AA, L, N, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z.
The bidding was highly competitive, with certain plates attracting extraordinary amounts. The top-seller of the auction, plate number AA17, fetched AED8.02 million. Other significant sales included the plate Y1000, sold for AED4.55 million, V96 for AED4.1 million, and AA333 for AED3.01 million.
