In a high-level cabinet meeting in Islamabad, the prime minister denounced US sanctions targeting the National Defence Complex and other institutions. He reiterated that Pakistan’s nuclear and missile programmes are non-negotiable and serve as a shield against any aggression. Sharif highlighted that the programme is defensive, with no offensive intentions, and assured the nation of its continued development to strengthen national security.
Nuclear programme as a collective national asset
Shehbaz Sharif underlined that Pakistan’s nuclear programme is not the property of any individual or party but a collective asset of the entire nation. He asserted that the programme reflects the aspirations of Pakistan’s 240 million people and is vital for their protection.
