GAZA (THE THURSDAY TIMES) — Hamas has conditionally agreed to President Donald Trump’s peace proposal, signalling support for measures to end the war in Gaza, allow prisoner exchanges, ensure urgent humanitarian aid, end the occupation and oppose the displacement of Palestinians.
The announcement followed Trump’s stark warning that Hamas must reach an agreement by Sunday evening at 6 p.m. Washington D.C. time or face “destruction like never seen before” while insisting there will be peace in the Middle East one way or another.

In its statement, Hamas said it is prepared to release all Israeli prisoners, both living and deceased, under the exchange formula in Trump’s plan, provided the necessary field conditions are met. The group also expressed readiness to enter immediate talks through mediators.
Hamas added that it would hand over the administration of Gaza to an independent Palestinian body formed through national consensus and backed by Arab and Islamic support. It stressed that the future of Gaza and the rights of the Palestinian people must be settled within a comprehensive national framework rooted in international law and relevant UN resolutions, confirming its commitment to play a responsible role in that process.
