ISLAMABAD (The Thursday Times) — Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, has praised Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Pakistan’s career diplomats for their role in facilitating, coordinating and preparing arrangements for diplomatic talks.
In a statement posted on X, the Iranian envoy described diplomats as “architects of peace” who navigate the complexities of international relations through dialogue, empathy and understanding.
He expressed “sincere and profound appreciation” for Ishaq Dar, as well as the veteran and career diplomats of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for what he called their tireless work in making talks possible.
As trusted harbingers of international harmony, diplomats are the architects of peace, entrusted with navigating the delicate complexities of international relations through the patient craft of dialogue, empathy, and understanding.

The remarks come at a time when Pakistan’s diplomatic role has drawn renewed attention amid regional tensions and efforts to keep communication channels open between key capitals.
Moghadam said Pakistan’s diplomats had worked long before the talks themselves began, facilitating and preparing arrangements for delegations and discussions. He said such work turns political will into practical avenues through which diplomacy can take shape.
“This is diplomacy in its truest sense,” he said, describing it not merely as words, but as the quiet and persistent labour that makes dialogue possible and peace attainable.
The statement is significant because it highlights the often unseen work of Pakistan’s Foreign Office at a sensitive diplomatic moment. While high-level meetings and public statements draw attention, much of diplomacy depends on preparation, coordination, protocol and trust-building away from the cameras.
By publicly recognising Ishaq Dar and Pakistan’s career diplomats, the Iranian ambassador placed emphasis on Islamabad’s role as a serious diplomatic facilitator. His message also underlined the importance of professional foreign service work in sustaining dialogue during periods of uncertainty.
