US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has signalled a broader strategic relationship with Pakistan, expanding cooperation beyond counterterrorism into trade, economic growth and regional stability.

US President Donald Trump, in an address to American generals, praised Pakistan’s Field Marshal Asim Munir for recognising his role in stopping a potential Pakistan–India war and saving millions of lives. Trump called the praise an honour, referenced the downing of seven planes, and said trade pressure was used to defuse the crisis.

امریکی صدر ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ نے امریکی جنرلز سے خطاب کے دوران پاکستان کے آرمی چیف فیلڈ مارشل عاصم منیر کو خراجِ تحسین پیش کرتے ہوے کہا کہ فیلڈ مارشل نے انہیں پاک بھارت جنگ رکوانے اور لاکھوں جانیں بچانے پر سراہا، جسے وہ اپنے لیے اعزاز سمجھتے ہیں۔ ٹرمپ نے سات طیارے گرنے کا ذکر کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ جنگ روکنے کیلئے انہوں نے تجارتی دباؤ استعمال کیا۔

امریکی محکمہ خارجہ نے بلوچ لبریشن آرمی (بی ایل اے) اور اُس کے ذیلی گروہ ’’مجید بریگیڈ‘‘ کو غیر ملکی دہشتگرد تنظیم (ایف ٹی او) قرار دے دیا۔ مجید بریگیڈ کو بی ایل اے کے پہلے سے موجود خصوصی عالمی دہشتگرد (ایس ڈی جی ٹی) درجہ میں بطور عرف شامل کر دیا گیا۔

The Trump administration has designated the BLA and its alias, the Majeed Brigade, as Foreign Terrorist Organisations, citing their role in deadly attacks in Pakistan since 2019 including a 2025 train hijacking which killed 31 people.
