Ronaldo to stay in Saudi Arabia with fresh two-year Al-Nassr contract

Cristiano Ronaldo is set to extend his contract with Al-Nassr after weeks of speculation about his future, as the club simultaneously works to sign Casemiro and find a new manager following Pioli’s exit.

RIYADH (The Thursday Times) — Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a new deal with Al-Nassr, extending his time in Saudi Arabia despite earlier hints suggesting he might move on. Though details are still under discussion, we can indeed confirm a contract has been signed until at least 2027.

In May, Ronaldo sparked speculation by stating that “this chapter is over,” leading many to believe his tenure in the Saudi Pro League was ending. However, following Portugal’s UEFA Nations League win over Spain, he clarified that “nothing will change” regarding his club future.

Al-Nassr is simultaneously pushing to rebuild around their talisman. Portuguese outlet Record, via ESPN, claims the club is closing in on a deal for Manchester United midfielder Casemiro—Ronaldo’s former Real Madrid teammate.

The club has also parted ways with manager Stefano Pioli, who had only taken charge in September. Sporting director Fernando Hierro is now tasked with appointing a successor capable of delivering the Saudi Pro League title—a prize that has so far eluded Ronaldo and Al-Nassr.

Despite the team’s underwhelming third-place finish last season, 13 points behind champions Al-Ittihad, Ronaldo’s individual stats remain stellar. Across 77 league matches, he has racked up 74 goals and 16 assists, reaffirming his value to the squad as both a leader and prolific scorer.
