— Pakistan’s National Incubation Centers programme won the Digital Policy and Regulatory Excellence award at the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation’s Digital Excellence Awards 2026 in London last month.

The programme is run by Ignite, the National Technology Fund, and gives startups incubation, mentoring, business support and access to investors through a nationwide network of centres. The awards were presented during the organisation’s 125th anniversary celebrations.

Pakistan received two other honours. A project on transforming government relief delivery through digital systems took the silver medal in the e-government category, and an integrated spectrum governance reform was a bronze-medal finalist in the same category as the incubation centres.

The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, led by Shaza Fatima Khawaja, oversees Ignite.
