— The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) is Pakistan’s highest-ranked university at 76th in the QS Asia University Rankings 2027, a list that includes 90 Pakistani institutions.

Quaid-i-Azam University is 111th, the Lahore University of Management Sciences 143rd, COMSATS University Islamabad 171st and the University of the Punjab 172nd.

In Southern Asia, NUST ranks second behind IIT Delhi, which is 66th in Asia, and Quaid-i-Azam University is 10th.

This edition covers 1,722 universities across 26 education systems. The University of Hong Kong is first, followed by Peking University and Tsinghua University.

QS uses 11 indicators. Academic reputation carries 30 per cent of the weight and employer reputation 20 per cent, so half the score rests on reputation. If you are choosing a university, look at how your own department performs as well as the overall rank.
