Israel claims full responsibility for Qatar strike on Hamas leaders

Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office announced that today’s strike targeting Hamas leadership was an entirely independent Israeli operation as officials stressed that Israel initiated, carried out and takes full responsibility for the action.

JERUSALEM (THE THURSDAY TIMES) — Israel declared on Monday that its latest strike on Hamas leadership was carried out entirely under its own direction, with no outside involvement.

In a statement, the Prime Minister’s Office said the operation targeting what it called “top terrorist chieftains of Hamas” was planned and executed solely by Israeli forces. “Israel initiated it, Israel conducted it, and Israel takes full responsibility,” the statement read.

The announcement appeared designed to underline Israel’s control of the operation and to distance the country from speculation about external coordination. It also comes at a time of heightened regional tension, with Israeli forces intensifying their military campaign against Hamas.

Officials provided no further details on the strike or its aftermath, and international observers are monitoring the situation closely.
