وزیراعظم شہباز شریف نے فیلڈ مارشل سید عاصم منیر کو ملک کا پہلا چیف آف ڈیفنس فورسز مقرر کرنے کی سمری کی منظوری دے دی ہے، جسے ایوانِ صدر بھجوا دیا گیا ہے۔ نئی تقرری پانچ سال کے لئے ہو گی، جبکہ ائیر چیف مارشل ظہیر احمد بابر سدھو کی مدتِ ملازمت میں بھی دو سال کی توسیع منظور کر لی گئی ہے۔
