— Security forces killed 17 Indian-sponsored terrorists in two intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Kachhi and Kharan districts, and a soldier was martyred, Inter-Services Public Relations said on Tuesday.

The operations took place on November 1, after reports that terrorists from what the military calls the Indian proxies “Fitna Al Hindustan” and “Fitna Al Khawarij” were in the area, the ISPR said.

In the Sanni area of Kachhi, forces stopped an attempt by terrorists to set up a roadblock in the city, killing 10 of them and recovering weapons and ammunition.

In Kharan, forces raided a terrorist hideout, and seven terrorists were killed in an intense exchange of fire. Sepoy Hikmat Ullah, 25, from Karak district, was martyred in the fighting.

The ISPR said clearance operations were continuing in both areas, and that the counterterrorism campaign would go on under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

Last week, the Interior Ministry told the National Assembly that security forces had killed 2,410 terrorists in the first nine months of the year.
