— Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, visited the headquarters of the Special Services Group (SSG) in Tarbela on Thursday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

He was received by the General Officer Commanding SSG. The Field Marshal laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada Monument and offered Fateha, paying tribute to SSG personnel who embraced martyrdom in defence of the motherland.

He was briefed on the SSG’s specialised training, operational preparedness and mission readiness. He also saw a display of specialised equipment and a demonstration of the group’s combat proficiency, agility and precision in special operations, the ISPR said.

Speaking to officers and troops, he commended their professionalism, high morale and devotion to duty. He said sustained training, indigenous capability development and an uncompromising focus on operational preparedness were essential to maintaining an edge over evolving security threats and emerging challenges.
