LONDON (The Thursday Times) — Jemima Goldsmith, the British screenwriter and producer once married to former Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan, has married Irish-Australian financier Cameron O’Reilly in a private ceremony, more than two decades after her divorce from the cricketer-turned-politician.
News of the wedding emerged over the weekend through Jemima’s sister-in-law, Jemima Jones, who is married to her brother Ben Goldsmith. Jones shared a photograph from the celebrations on Instagram, writing: “Celebrating Jemima and Cameron’s wedding, with my favourite date, what a happy day!” The image showed the couple posing beside a lily pond on the grounds of a grand stone venue, with further details of the ceremony not disclosed.
Goldsmith, 52, and O’Reilly, 62, are understood to have met through their shared work in film and documentary production before dating for roughly a year, with reports earlier this year indicating they had become engaged. O’Reilly is the son of the late Sir Anthony O’Reilly, an Irish businessman, media executive, and former international rugby player, and has worked across media and private equity. The pair were previously spotted together in the Royal Box at Wimbledon.
The marriage is Jemima’s second. She married Imran Khan in 1995 and the couple divorced in 2004 after nine years, during which she lived in Pakistan and had two sons, Sulaiman, now 29, and Kasim, 27. Since the divorce, she has been publicly linked to actor Hugh Grant, comedian Russell Brand, and The Crown creator Peter Morgan. She has continued to campaign, alongside her sons, for Khan’s release from prison in Pakistan.
Goldsmith has built a career as an award-winning screenwriter and producer, with credits including the Emmy-nominated The Clinton Affair and Impeachment: American Crime Story, and the 2022 film What’s Love Got to Do with It?, which drew partly on her own experience of arranged and assisted marriages in Pakistan and won four National Film Awards UK. The wedding comes almost a year after the death of Jemima’s mother, Lady Annabel Goldsmith, the socialite for whom London’s Annabel’s nightclub is named; her father, businessman Sir James Goldsmith, died in 1997.
