— Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir and senior Chinese Communist Party official Liu Haixing on Monday expressed a shared resolve to further strengthen the “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership” between Pakistan and China, the military’s media wing said.

Liu, who heads the International Department of the party’s Central Committee, called on Munir at General Headquarters, where the two discussed “evolving regional and international security dynamics and bilateral relations”, Inter-Services Public Relations said.

Munir highlighted the “historic and time-tested bond” between the two countries and stressed the importance of sustained high-level engagement, stronger institutional links and wider cooperation, the statement said. Liu appreciated Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability and expressed confidence in advancing the partnership.

Liu also met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad, conveying greetings from Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Dar sent warm greetings to President Xi Jinping on behalf of Pakistan’s leadership and reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to the partnership, the Foreign Office said. The two discussed cultural ties and people-to-people exchanges, and agreed to keep up close coordination.
