And We have sent you only as a mercy to all the worlds.

His mercy was not confined to Muslims; it extended to the whole of humanity, to all nations and to all creatures. In every aspect of his life he showed kindness, love and tolerance, whether towards friends or enemies. Even during war he always pointed the way to peace and reconciliation, and set examples of forgiving his enemies, as on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, when he pardoned those who had sought his life. He struggled to deliver humanity from oppression, ignorance and injustice, and taught people to respect one another and one another's rights. His message was founded on peace, love and brotherhood, and remains a guiding light for all people until the end of time.
